Title: Process Engineer

Reports to: Applications Engineering Manager
Location: York, PA FLSA
Status: Exempt

Position Summary:

This position provides technical and customer support as well as processing of medical systems and related
applications and materials; including running tests and product development.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Run systems pre-test prior to FAT and resolve any issues prior to customer visit
• Will assist shop with line set-up for system pre-test and FAT
• Prepare extruders and customer supplied equipment for FAT’s
• Prepare all downstream equipment for FAT’s and resolve any issues prior to customer visit
• Responsible for head/tooling/melt pump set up, and maintenance during FAT with Lab Tech
• Attend systems meeting and be prepared to give status updates of systems in progress
• Travel to customer sites to assist with start-up and process.
• Work with sales to develop new equipment and/or processes
• Review customer documentation to ensure specs match customer requirements
• Maintain organization and control of lab parts and equipment
• Be sure all necessary equipment and materials are available for lab trials and FAT’s
• Work with customers during lab trials to get the desired product customer needs
• All other duties as assigned
• Travel required

Job Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience in process testing and designing.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Materials/Polymer Science is preferred.
• Testing/process design
• Medical extrusion including single & multi-lumen tubing, co-extrusion, profiles, and wire jacketing
• Tooling design (die, vacuum and cutting) and screw design
• Medical devices and delivery systems experience
• Experience with processing a wide variety of medical grade materials and polymers including Nylons, Pebax, PU, FEP, PEEK, HDPE, FPVC, TPE and PLLA
• MS Office Suite
• Experience in the extrusion industry is highly desirable Skills/Critical Competencies

• This position requires a high degree of mobility to assemble, process and repair machines.
• The incumbent must be able to effectively utilize a variety of hand and power tools, computer peripherals, climb ladders and lift up to 40-50 lbs.
• The incumbent must be able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as customers and vendors.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
• Must be willing and able to travel to customer sites as necessary; up to 20%
