C30

Bottled water continues to be a growing segment of the beverage industry. With over thirty years of experience in the water bottle industry and over 670 operational machines in 22 different countries, Graham Engineering continues its commitment to be an industry leader in machinery optimized for the production of reusable Polycarbonate and Copolyester water bottles.

The C30, a single cavity, reciprocating screw intermittent extrusion machine, is a reliable, low cost machine designed to increase production runs and company profits.

The machine is designed to run 140-150 bottles per hour, based on standard handled or non-handled 750-gram bottles.

Graham’s Plasticizing Unit Sets Us Apart

Graham Engineering uses a flow through die head in conjunction with 24 to 1 Length-to-Diameter (L/D) reciprocating screw extruder. This results in production of high clarity polycarbonate water bottles.

The extruders feature four temperature control zones and heat-cooled bands on the bimetallic barrel. The extruder is driven by a high torque, variable speed hydraulic screw drive motor.

Die Head

The flow through die head prevents material degradation, and eliminates frequent disassembly in cleaning as occurs in accumulator style heads.

PC Control System

Graham Engineering’s blow molding machine control system, the XBM Navigator™ is a prime example of our leading edge technology.

This in-house developed system is powered by a Beckhoff industrially hardened PC, with software written by GEC specifically for the C-30 machine. The result is a controller that is extremely user friendly.

Hydraulics

The C30 system uses fully proportional hydraulics from Bosch Rexroth to provide infinite aerial speed and position control. Graham Engineering has made a hydraulic accumulator system independent for the clamp and extruder, while supplying a generously sized hydraulic reservoir.

Clamping Station

The C30 is equipped with the single cylinder, 3-platen, 4 tie bar clamping system in order to maximize full support and mold pinched-off longevity, while at the same time provide complete access to the mold area.

High clamp speeds with self-lubricating are provided to obtain fast cycling.

Neck Finishing

The C30 offers an optional in system deflashing unit which delivers completely finished containers in an upright oriented manner exiting the machine.

As a further development, the C30 offers bottom blow with compression compact and neck finish. This technology, developed by Graham, utilizes a hydraulic compaction sleeve. This compaction system creates a neck finish free of any parting line on the neck-sealing surface.
