Pultrusion Machine Processor
Due to growth in the Pultrusion segment of our business, Graham Engineering Corporation (GEC), a leader in the blow molding industry, has an immediate opening for an experienced, hands-on Pultrusion Machine Processor at our York, PA location. This position is responsible for all processing, operational and service functions related to polyurethane pultrusion, including assisting in the conceptual design, testing and processing of pultrusion dies. Responsibilities include:
1. Perform mechanical tool and die assembly, including mounting of mechanical and electrical components, electrical wiring, and final mechanical assemblies.
2. Perform all processing, start-up, operation, shut-down and mechanical troubleshooting of pultrusion machinery, resolving any issues that develop in the process.
3. Work with other departments and personnel (Sales, Production, Engineering, etc) to ensure customer expectations are understood and met.
4. Maintain quality standards in production of pultruded parts.
5. Work with Engineering to de-bug, specify, and perform any required die revision.
6. Perform machine/pultrusion die/system start-ups.
7. Establish and document operations, assembly, adjustment, and machine start-up procedures
8. Generate Engineering Change Notices (ECN) to improve machine or system functions
9. Recognize all die related problems and issues recommendations to Engineering and mold makers to resolve problems.
10. Train other employees in best practices in set up, operation and troubleshooting of pultrusion process.
11. Maintain inventory system.
12. Follow all Company policy and procedures.
13. Maintain good housekeeping and follows safety rules/policies.
14. Operate forklift, as needed.
15. All other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications include:
1. Strong understanding of pultrusion technology, including both theoretical and practical engineering concepts. Preferred experience with polyurethane.
2. Must have excellent technical, mechanical and process troubleshooting skills.
3. A minimum of 5 years hands on experience in pultrusion processing.
4. A current forklift Operator's License
5. Must be computer literate and proficient in software applications.
6. Must have or be willing to purchase own tools.
7. Proven ability to handle detailed information with high confidentiality
8. Technical Degree or equivalent experience
9. Ability to read blue prints, electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, and bill of materials (BOM).
10. Good oral and written communication skills and be customer oriented a plus.
11. Physical and medical standards for this post must be met by the incumbent passing a physical examination by a company approved physician
